This is the privacy notice for https://www.podcast-studies.org.
Who is this?
Podcast-studies.org is owned and maintained by Aske Kammer, an Associate Professor of Journalism Studies at Roskilde University. The website is a private project, not affiliated with this institution.
Tracking
I respect your privacy and do not track you. Period. However, a few services are used on the website that you should know about:
- LocalStorage: This website uses LocalStorage to save the setting when Dark Mode support is turned on or off. LocalStorage is necessary for the setting to work and is only used when a user clicks on the Dark Mode button. No data is saved in the database or transferred.
- MailPoet: This website can send emails through the MailPoet Sending Service. This service allows tracking opens and clicks on the emails. This information may be used to improve the content of the newsletters. No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for the email address.
Analytics
This website is hosted by one.com, which may collect some anonymous analytics data. Furthermore, the back-end of the website uses the Jetpack software by Automattic: their data collection policy on users’ websites is explained in their privacy notice.
Embedded elements
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the podcast-studies.org newsletter, your email address is the only piece of data that will be added to the recipient database. Your email address will be kept as long as the newsletter is active or until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. The newsletter is set-up and distributed through the MailPoet Sending Service.
Your rights
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data registered about you, including any data you have provided yourself. You can also request the deletion of any personal data registered about you. Just contact me. If you want to limit third-party data collection (which I strongly encourage), use privacy-protection software like Ghostery; the use of such software may, however, limit functionality of this site.
